Born not far from Kyiv, Ukraine, V. Taran graduated in 1983 from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and in 1995 from the Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute, where he studied in the graphics art department. He also spent two periods in Switzerland (1994, 1998) to improve his engraving skills. His principal occupation is an applied design (logo, corporate identity, medal and coin design), printing graphic arts (illustration for children?s literature, textbooks, art-albums, lyrics books, covers, leaflets, post cards, magazines, stamps, calendars) and architecture design (fronts, interior, exclusive furniture, decor). Painting, graphic arts, installation and bookplate design are rather more in the nature of a hobby.

Exhibitions:

He has participated in ten easel painting exhibitions and in more then fifty bookplates and small prints works exhibitions around the world.
